Chrissie Evert Receives Shining Star Award at HJTEP Annual Gala

Chrissie Evert is formally a tennis Shining Star.

Corridor of Famer Evert was one among a number of tennis legends illuminating final evening’s Harlem Junior Tennis & Training Program Gala.

Iconic champion Billie Jean King, HJTEP Government Director Katrina Adams and Patrick McEnroe have been all available as Evert obtained the Shining Star award  on the 53rd annual Harlem Junior Tennis & Training Program Gala on the Ziegfield Theater in New York Metropolis.

Rennae Stubbs a earlier winner of the Shining Star Award and Milos Raonic have been two of the numerous ATP/WTA tour gamers available for HJTEP’s annual gala. Greater than $1 Million was raised from the charity occasion to help HJTEP’s applications.

Luminaries from the world of tennis, celeb tennis followers, philanthropists and supporters celebrated the Harlem Junior Tennis & Training Program (HJTEP) serving to and provoking children by tennis and training on the HJTEP Annual Gala.

Along with celebrating the success of the practically 1,000 children who profit from the HJTEP yearly, the occasion honored two of its most ardent supporters by presenting the Shining Star Award to Chrissie Evert and the HJTEP Company Award to Morgan Stanley.

HJTEP develops champions in tennis training and wellness, bringing tennis to youth from high-risk, low-income inner-city neighborhoods and affords alternatives for self-development, emphasizing training and a constructive code of conduct.

The not-for-profit group opens a brand new door for a lot of inner-city girls and boys, ages 6-18, to study the sport of tennis. Since 1972 the numbers converse to its success with a 95% highschool commencement charge, a 3.1 GPA, and 80% of graduates attending school.
