A 42-year-old man has died in Maurienne in France. He was a part of a gaggle of three skiers. It follows dozens of deaths within the Alps in current weeks. NEW
The avalanche accident occurred on the north face of the Cime du Sambuis, in Maurienne on Friday at 3pm.
The sufferer was a part of a gaggle of three skiers from Chambéry and Lyon.
The primary skier went down the slope with out incident however the second was carried away by an avalanche and he was thrown towards rocks.
The opposite two skiers alerted the rescue authorities.
“The skier was carried away by a wind plate above rock bars,” and couldn’t be resuscitated regardless of the intervention of the Excessive Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon of Savoie (PGHM) and a Samu physician, stated the prefecture in an announcement.
The authorities proceed to advise that individuals use excessive warning off piste with a typically unstable snow pack.
