Carlos Alcaraz has withdrawn from the Rolex Shanghai Masters because of a left ankle harm.
Regardless of hurting his ankle in his opening Tokyo match in opposition to Sebastian Baez, Alcaraz pushed on to raise the trophy for his ATP Tour-leading eighth title of the season. The 22-year-old’s 67 match wins are essentially the most he has earned in a season, in line with the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
With the Spaniard’s withdrawal, the following participant to be seeded, Corentin Moutet, turns into the thirty third seed and takes Alcaraz’s place atop the draw. The Frenchman will face Beijing finalist Learner Tien or Miomir Kecmanovic within the second spherical.

Jannik Sinner, the No. 2 participant within the PIF ATP Rankings, is now the highest-ranked participant within the Shanghai area. The Italian is within the backside half of the draw and can play Daniel Altmaier or a qualifier/fortunate loser in his opening match.
