Air air pollution fell considerably as town restricted automobile site visitors and made means for parks and bike lanes.

Airparif, an unbiased group that tracks air high quality for France’s capital area, stated this week that ranges of high-quality particulate matter (PM 2.5) have decreased 55 p.c since 2005, whereas nitrogen dioxide ranges have fallen 50 p.c. It attributed this to “rules and public insurance policies,” together with steps to restrict site visitors and ban essentially the most polluting autos.
