Jenson Brooksby has had his suspension shortened, and may return to motion on the ATP Tour as quickly as subsequent month.
The American, who was handed an 18-month ban for lacking three doping checks, had his sentence decreased by 5 months and back-dated to the date of his third missed check.
Meaning he’s eligible for a return ten months sooner than he initially thought.
The ITIA had initially suspended Brooksby till January of 2025 for the three missed checks. The decreased sentence got here from “new data referring to the circumstances giving rise to the missed checks,” in line with a doc launched by the ITIA (Worldwide Tennis Integrity Company).

“Following reassessment, the ITIA, WADA, and the participant’s representatives agreed that Brooksby’s fault for the ADRV was not as excessive as beforehand discovered by the unbiased tribunal, and a 13-month sanction was acceptable,” the assertion learn. “The sanction shall be backdated to the date of the participant’s third and last missed check. As such, Brooksby’s suspension is deemed to have begun on 4 February 2023, and can finish on 3 March 2024. In reaching an settlement with the ITIA, the participant has withdrawn their attraction to CAS.”
