Juanma Lopez de Jesus simply had his professional debut earlier this month. Now his group is taking a look at scheduling the flyweight prospect’s Puerto Rican debut in March or April, in response to El Nuevo Dia.
The 19-year-old Lopez de Jesus – nicknamed “Juanmita” – hails from Caguas, the island’s fifth-largest metropolis. He’s the namesake son of Juan Manuel Lopez, a two-division titleholder who final fought in 2019.
Lopez de Jesus competed within the 2024 Olympics and entered the paid ranks on the February 14 undercard of Denys Berinchyk-Keyshawn Davis, needing simply 59 seconds to knock out the 1-1-1 Bryan Santiago at The Theater At Madison Sq. Backyard.

Juan Manuel Lopez made his professional debut in Bayamon in January 2005, combating 25 of his 43 professional bouts in Puerto Rico. These occasions included two defenses of his junior featherweight title (wins over Cesar Figueroa and Gerry Penalosa) and two defenses of his featherweight title (a win over Bernabe Concepcion and a loss to Orlando Salido).
The elder Lopez’s remaining battle, a draw with the 16-4 Emiliano Martin Garcia, passed off on the Coliseo Roger L. Mendoza in Caguas.
