A number of mountaineering trails in Zion Nationwide Park are presently closed as wildland firefighters battle a 25-acre fireplace ignited by a lightning strike.
The fireplace within the West Rim space of Zion Nationwide Park was reported to park workers at roughly 12:30 pm on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Firefighters from the Nationwide Park Service and companions are actively addressing the flames. At present 25 wildland firefighters and one sort 3 helicopter, conducting water drops, have been deployed.Â
In response to the hearth, Zion has briefly closed Lava Level Street and West Rim path. The West Rim path is presently closed between Scout Lookout and Lava Level.
