The New York State Division of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has taken the preventive security measure of closing a mountain climbing path the city of Tupper Lake after a younger bull moose has been noticed there repeatedly over the previous few weeks. The closure results Goodman Mountain path within the Horseshoe Lake Wild Forest:
“Wild animals might be unpredictable and probably harmful when approached. The closure is a precautionary measure to guard public security and reduce disturbances to the animal.” -DEC
Indicators have been posted at trailheads and entry factors to alert hikers of the hazard and guests are urged to hunt different mountain climbing locations. The path will stay closed till DEC determines it’s secure to reopen. Forest Rangers might be actively implementing the closure as DEC Wildlife consultants monitor the scenario carefully.
The next video of the offending moose was taken by a pair mountain climbing down from the summit of Goodman Mountain on June fifth.
